Finding myself forced back to the afternoon shift at work I quickly realized that spending my now free mornings binge watching the X-Files on Netflix while perusing... ummm... adult content on the interweb is not very productive. Vowing to be one of those annoying glass-half-full guys I determined to make the most of this time by doing something worthwhile.

I've always been sort of the artistic type (I use that phrase loosely, Rockwell I am not) but haven't picked up a pen or brush in quite a few years. But inspired by all the great automotive artwork I've been seeing online lately I decided that was the ticket. So I rolled up my sleeves, fired up Corel Draw and got to it. These illustrations are the result.

Kinja'd!!!

The first one is... the first one I did. The great Mark Donahue's 1968 Trans-Am championship winning Camaro, done in the style of a poster for the '68 Mont Tremblant race that Donahue also won.

Kinja'd!!!

The second is the Alan Moffat's 1969 Trans-Am spec Mustang that competed in the Australian Touring Car Championship. Though Moffat somehow managed to never win the championship with the Mustang the car's record was amazing, taking the checked flag in 101 of the 151 races it entered.

Let me know what you think, even it's to tell me they're rubbish and I should stop wasting my time. Since I'm off today I'm going to fight the urge to have a beer already.

I posted it I realized that. Fixed. Working in vectors has huge advantages.

Still can't believe I worked on that for several weeks and it never dawned on me.
